How Many Outfits Should You Bring to Senior Photos?

Two college graduates wearing black caps and gowns smile back toward the camera while holding large LMU flags behind them in a sunny outdoor setting with palm trees and greenery.

One of the most frequently asked questions I get asked is, “How many outfits can I wear during my Senior session?” And truthfully, this is an excellent question! Several different outfits can elevate your gallery, add so much variety, and most importantly, showing off different sides of your personality without feeling stressed or rushed!

The Ideal Number of Outfits:

The sweet spot for most seniors is 2-3 outfits! This will give you enough variety to have a diverse gallery.

This usually breaks down like:

  • One casual outfit

  • One dressy outfit

  • One personality outfit (sports jersey, hobby look, college tee, etc.)

Why Outfit Variety Matters

Different outfits create different moods in your photos. Variety helps your final gallery feel full, dynamic, and uniquely YOU.

For example:

  • Flowy dress = light, dreamy photos

  • Jeans + cute top = relaxed, natural vibe

  • Dressy outfit = polished, classic portraits

  • Hobby or jersey outfit = personality + storytelling

Matching Outfits to Locations

If your session includes multiple locations (like beach + downtown Savannah), outfit changes help each location feel distinct.

Think of it like styling a magazine shoot:

  • Beach → soft colors + flowy fabrics

  • Downtown → bold outfit + statement pieces

  • Nature → neutrals + earthy tones

Quick Tips for Choosing Outfits

✔ Choose outfits you feel confident and comfortable in – this is so IMPORTANT!
✔ Bring options – I can help you decide the day of your session!
✔ Avoid large logos or distracting patterns – this will take away from YOU!
✔ Mix textures and layers for dimension
✔ Accessorize – hats, jackets, jewelry add variety! Accessories are my FAVORITE!

What NOT to Do

Avoid bringing too many outfits. Overpacking can actually create stress and slow your session down. The goal is quality, not quantity. You are always welcome to send me pictures of your outfits before your session!
