In the whirlwind of life's precious (and crazy!) moments, sometimes it’s hard to remember to book portraits for a major milestone happening in your life. Whether it's welcoming a newborn into the world, celebrating the beauty of pregnancy, capturing the love of family, or commemorating baby's first milestone with a cake smash, every occasion deserves to be captured with care and attention to detail. But when is the best time to schedule your photo shoot? Let's break it down!

Savannah Maternity Photoshoot

Newborn Photography: For those precious first moments with your newest arrival, it's best to plan ahead. Book your newborn photoshoot in your second trimester to secure a slot on my limited schedule. I'll hold time around your due date and schedule the session to take place between 7-21 days of age. Our newborn studio is available by private appointment every Monday through Thursday at 10 am, ensuring an easy and comfortable environment for both baby and parents.

Maternity Photography: The glow of pregnancy is a beautiful thing to capture, and timing is key. Depending on the size of your growing belly, I typically recommend scheduling your maternity photoshoot to take place between 32-36 weeks of gestation. This allows me to capture your adorable (yet bigger!) bump while also ensuring we complete the session before baby's early arrival. Whether you prefer a fine art session in the studio or the golden hour vibes of an outdoor setting, I'll work together to create stunning images that celebrate this special time in your life. Don’t forget to include any siblings and your partner in this experience!

Savannah Family Photoshoot

Family Photography: Family portraits are timeless treasures that capture the love and connection between generations. Family sessions can be shot in studio or outdoors. For the studio, I have the same hours as maternity and newborn. For outdoor sessions, they take place one hour before sunset just like maternity. Keep in mind that spring and fall are the two most popular times for family photoshoots. Spring is fairly busy with all of the gorgeous landscapes and flowers, but by far, fall is the busiest time. My fall slots book very quickly. To ensure availability for your annual portraits and/or Christmas card photos, consider booking in July or August for Fall sessions, and January or February for Spring sessions.

Savannah Cake Smash Photoshoot

Cake Smash Photography: Baby's first birthday is a milestone worth celebrating, and what better way to commemorate it than with a cake smash photoshoot? To ensure your portraits are ready in time for the festivities, I recommend booking the session around 9-10 months of age, for a date that’s at least 2 weeks before the big day. This allows ample time for editing and delivery of your portraits, ensuring they're picture-perfect for the celebration.

Whether you're welcoming a new addition to the family, celebrating the beauty of pregnancy, capturing cherished family moments, or commemorating baby's first milestone, scheduling the perfect Savannah photoshoot is all about timing. By planning ahead and booking early, you can ensure that every precious moment is captured with the care and attention it deserves, creating timeless memories to cherish for years to come.
