Melissa’s Maternity Session | Spring Blooms & Coastal Light

There is just something about spring in coastal Georgia that makes maternity sessions feel extra magical and Melissa’s session was the perfect example of that. From the vibrant pops of pink blooms to the soft golden light filtering through the trees, every moment felt warm, peaceful, and full of anticipation.

We started surrounded by the most gorgeous flowering bushes, and I mean… this is why spring is one of my absolute favorite seasons to photograph maternity sessions. The colors were bold, the light was dreamy, and Melissa absolutely glowed. She wore a soft, textured cream dress that photographed beautifully against all the vibrant florals—simple, timeless, and so flattering for highlighting her growing bump.

One of my favorite things about this session was how natural everything felt. Melissa and her husband were so relaxed together, and you could just feel the excitement they share about meeting their little one. The way he looked at her, the way they held hands, the quiet little laughs in between poses—it’s those in-between moments that truly tell the story.

As the session continued, we moved into a more natural, coastal setting with soft greenery and golden light. This gave us a completely different vibe while still keeping everything cohesive. That mix of locations is something I love incorporating—it gives you variety in your gallery while still keeping the focus on you and your story.

And then… we ended on the dock at sunset, and it was everything. The soft glow reflecting off the water, the calm atmosphere, and those intimate moments between them—it was the perfect way to wrap up such a beautiful session. These are the kinds of images that don’t just document a season of life… they feel like it.
